action earlier in tree day, the Board of <br />Commissioners decided to honor the right to <br />petition and would place before the voters at a <br />Special Election in late April the question of <br />five commissioners by district. In the same <br />action, the Board asked to establish an <br />independent study commission that could review the <br />costs and opportunities of this kind of County <br />government. On Thursday of this week, a <br />Resolution will be adopted to officially set this <br />election and the dai~e. <br />Anderson asked that Louisville be considered as <br />having a representative on this study commission. <br />Szymanski was pleased with the Commissioners <br />decision. <br />Anderson took note ghat there is an issue where <br />the County Treasurer is contemplating placement of <br />County funds in banks outside the County of <br />Boulder. Anderson asked that with Council <br />approval, staff monitor the anticipated action. <br />Szymanski asked for an update to the clusterbox <br />issue. Wanush explained that the box at Mr. <br />Buffo's residence has been turned around. Others <br />will be turned in the near future. Letters to <br />clusterbox users have been sent by the Post Office <br />relating safety issues in the use of the boxes. <br />Szymanski noted that: the cars in the Safeway <br />parking lot with "For Sale" sign disband yet <br />reappear quickly. Hundley noted that a letter was <br />obtained by the City from the manager of the <br />Shopping Center authorizing the Police Department <br />to tow vehicles away. <br />Mohr related the Chamber of Commerce Banquet has <br />been set for April 5th. Mohr also stated that he <br />had been trying to contact County Assessor <br />Goodyear's office regarding taxation questions and <br />had not yet been successful. The question regards <br />the Fairways Sanitation and Water Tax which came <br />up last fall with a small area in the McStain <br />Development. These homes should not have been <br />taxed and a letter was sent by McStain to Mr. <br />Goodyear's office requesting the present property <br />owners not be assessed this tax as of April, 1986. <br />Mohr will continue t:o pursue the issue until there <br />is a resolve. <br />Hundley reminded Council of a joint Council/Plan- <br />ning Commission Work Session set for February 25th <br />at 7:30 p.m. Also, a Council Work Session has <br />10 <br />
