Council approved unanimously <br />to allow the street closure as described. <br />INTRODUCTION OF NEW <br />EMPLOYEES Hundley explained that he would like to begin <br />introducing new employees so that Council can have <br />a chance to meet them and also the public. <br />Leesman introduced two new police officers, Lori <br />Mickschl and Michelle Bowman. <br />LURA BOARD APPOINTMENT Mayor Fauson introduced and appointed Steve Neill <br />to the Louisville Urban Renew Authority Board who <br />has resided in Louisville for 12 years and has his <br />dentistry practice in Louisville also. <br />RETAIL LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATION - CENTENNIAL LIQUORS - <br />PUBLIC HEARING Ferris explained that the liquor license <br />application for Centennial Liquors was up for a <br />public hearing this evening. Petitions were <br />circulated by Oedipus Inc. to "show the needs of <br />the neighborhood" and 213 people signed the <br />petitions favoring the retail liquor store and 37 <br />signed opposing same. Centennial Liquors is to be <br />located at the Centennial Center on the corner of <br />McCaslin Blvd. and Cherry Street. Proper posting <br />and notice of the public hearing were established. <br />Applicant Michael Poe explained that the petitions <br />proved the need for a retail liquor store at the <br />location of the Centennial Center and asked <br />Council to approve the application. <br />Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing and asked <br />for anyone wishing to speak in favor of or in <br />opposition to the license application. None. <br />Mayor Fauson closed the public hearing and called <br />for a motion. <br />Mohr moved that the retail liquor license applica- <br />tion for the Centennial Liquors be approved. <br />Szymanski seconded. By Roll Call Vote the motion <br />was approved unanimously. <br />TRI-CITY ELKS - CHANGE OF LOCATION FOR CLUB LICENSE - <br />SET PUBLIC HEARING Ferris explained that the Tri-City Elks was <br />changing the location of their club to 525 South <br />Main Street and a requirement of the State <br />licensing board was for the local licensing board <br />to hold a public hearing. It is Ferris' recommen- <br />dation that a public hearing be set for September <br />16, 1986. <br />3 <br />
