1.) Within 100' of a dedicated street;
2.) Within 100' of any property not zoned AG;
3.) Within 100' of property which is zoned AG, but is not
used solely for agricultural purposes, commercial crop
production, animal production, or horse stables.

Davidson called for Council questions.

NONE

Susan Griffiths, City Attorney, stated that there was a technical
revision to the Ordinance on page 2, paragraph B3, by undeleting
the last sentence. It should read "In such event, it shall be the
duty .... "

Levihn stated that if the City really wanted to control weeds, how
much open space did they have next residential areas and why would
the City be exempt weed control?

Annette Brand, City Administrator, stated that the City has
different standards depending on the zoning of City owned land.
The open space is not maintained. The park land that is not
irrigated is always maintained at 6" and the irrigated is
maintained at a much lower depth. She commented that the City has
a list of all of the different parcels and the care given it, which
she offered Levihn.

Levihn, Lathrop, and Sisk felt the 6" height standard should be
reviewed.

Sisk wanted the wording in the last sentence of B3 on page 2 to
read" .... owner, agent, and/or occupant .... "

Griffiths agreed.

Howard moved that Council approve Ordinance No. 1149, Series 1994,
an ordinance amending Chapter 8.08, Weeds, Title 8 of Louisville
Municipal Code on first reading and set out for publication for
second hearing on June 21, 1994. Seconded by Mayer. All in favor.

Brand stated that the different levels of care and the allowable
heights of weeds would be discussed at the next Work Session.

ORDINANCE NO. 1150, SERIES 1994 - AN ORDINANCE RENAMING THE STREET
KNOWN AS "ORCHARD DRIVE" AS DESIGNATED ON THE PLAT OF THE MEADOWS
AT COAL CREEK TO "EAST ORCHARD DRIVE" AND "WEST ORCHARD DRIVE" -
SET PUBLIC HEARING JUNE 7, 1994

Griffiths read by title only Ordinance No. 1150, Series 1994, "An
ordinance renaming a portion of the street known as "Orchard Drive"
as designated on the plat of "The Meadows At Coal Creek" to
"Orchard Way."
