Mayer announced that due to the many calls about mosquito spraying, there will be a meeting this
Thursday in the Council Chambers at 7:00 p.m.

PUBLIC COMMENTS - ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA

Davidson called for public comments on items not on the Agenda.

Beverly Campbell, 586 Cleveland Avenue, Louisville, Colorado, was concerned about what has been
going on with the Board of Adjustment. She had attended the May 18 hearing of the BOA at which
time they denied a variance for a property on Fairfield Lane brought to the BOA by the developer.
On June 15 it was scheduled to be reheard with the owners making the presentation. It was turned
down again, but was to be reheard again at the July 20 meeting. Now she has found out that the
BOA called two special meetings on June 29 and 30 to rehear that particular variance request. She
wondered why it had been reheard so many times and if the applicants met the criteria for the
rehearings. She wondered why, if City Council meetings are advertised in the Boulder Daily Camera,
why other board meetings are only advertised in the Louisville paper.

Davidson asked for someone from the Planning Department to contact her with those answers.
Davidson stated that there was great expense in doing the advertising.

Lowell Campbell, 586 Cleveland Avenue, Louisville, Colorado, felt there was a great need to have
the bicycle lane markings repainted on the streets to comply with Federal standards and that they be
uniform between Louisville, Lafayette, Boulder County, and Boulder.

Tom McAvinew, 229 Lois Drive, Louisville, Colorado, had a problem in his neighborhood with
illegal fireworks and all of the debris falling into his yard. His dog was petrified and required
sedatives. He wanted Council to make it easier to report and for the Police to follow up on the
report. He spoke concerning the Animal Control Ordinance and his frustration in dealing with
neighbor's cats. He wanted "teeth" put into the ordinance, so people are responsible for their animals.
He wanted a reply back from the city's legal counsel on this dilemma. Also, he wanted a resident
handbook given to new people moving into Louisville containing some of the more common and
troublesome ordinances, so there is no excuse for not knowing them.

Davidson thought it was a good idea to publish a "Welcome to Louisville" handbook.

Brian Andreja, Conservation Chairperson of the Indian Peaks Group of the Sierra Club, P.O. Box
4759, Boulder, Colorado 80306, spoke on the mosquito spraying in Louisville. He explained that
there are integrated pest management programs, which use. environmentally safe methods of
controlling the mosquitos, which he encouraged Council to use.

Cory Dickson, 653 West Sandalwood Court, Louisville, Colorado, representing the Saddle Ridge
Homeowner's Association, stated they were concerned about the massive spraying of the pesticides.
