2016 Work Plan <br />Goal #1: Build Community <br />We seek to foster a sense of community among the residents we serve. <br />Objectives <br />1. Community Living Room <br />We create gathering opportunities for community members to interact and create <br />relationships with each other and with local business people, artists, entertainers, and <br />educators. <br />1.1 Work Plan Responses <br />A. Children's, Teen, and Adult <br />■ Continue to evaluate building utilization to best <br />accommodate the needs of library users, with <br />expected layout changes in Children's and The Loft. <br />B. Movie Nights <br />■ Six yearly family and teen movie nights provide <br />entertainment opportunities for all ages. <br />■ TED Talks offered quarterly <br />C. Live Entertainment <br />■ Performing groups provide informal concerts and <br />performances to coincide with First Friday Art Walks <br />and other community events. <br />D. Community Events <br />■ The Library holds a community celebration to mark the <br />10th anniversary of the building's opening, participates <br />in 'One Action: Arts + Immigration,' and looks for <br />opportunities to participate in City events. <br />2. Shared Interests <br />Our programming brings people with common interests together. <br />2.1 Work Plan Responses <br />A. Survey Data <br />■ We build programming based on input from program <br />evaluation, online surveys, and informal feedback. <br />Project Plans created for <br />rearranging and <br />refreshing all public <br />areas. Funding 2017 and <br />'18. <br />9 movie nights held. <br />Not done: insufficient <br />staffing to develop. <br />6 concerts given, also <br />monthly recitals by <br />students of local music <br />instructor. <br />10th anniv. event in Aug. <br />'One Action': family <br />history, ceramic tiles, art <br />display. <br />Ave. program ratings 3.5 <br />on 4 -point scale. <br />Formal and informal <br />patron suggestions <br />guided program dev. <br />
