The Southern Exposure Concert was a great success with approximately 100 <br />people at the Arts center. <br />Carol C. reported on the Youth Writing Event. She thought it would make since to <br />have it earlier because of conflicts with sports events in the spring. <br />Julie K. thought it might be nice for the City Council members to introduce the <br />Summer Concerts since the City is sponsoring those events. She agreed to <br />inquire. <br />Carol requested help with the June 7 puppet show at the Arts Center. <br />Maryan requested that someone take over the student showcase and dance <br />events and suggested that the new cooridnator should contact Steve Christopher <br />(the music director at Fairview) and the band director at Monarch for talent <br />recommendations. Carol and Susan M. agreed to do the showcase. Susan will <br />also coordinate dance events. <br />XII. Fundraising Steering Committee -Rebecca L <br />Several fundraising ideas were discussed. <br />The idea of selling ornaments etched with the Arts Center proposed at the <br />April meeting was discussed. <br />Lynn talked to the LAA board about the Arts Center etching idea. It was <br />proposed that the LCC buy the winning art design that would be used. The <br />question was raised as to how the winning entry would be selected. It was <br />thought they might be displayed in the Arts Center for voting. Julie K. said <br />that the LCC is committed to spending $300 for the winning artwork. It was <br />agreed that the ornament discussion should be resumed at the July meeting. <br />Someone proposed that picnic blankets could be sold at the 2009 Concerts <br />in the Park. <br />Julie K. talked about the Flick n Float; movies the pool. Movies would require <br />$150 licensing plus $1000 for equipment and screen. A corporate sponsor or <br />volunteer donations are needed for future programming. <br />XIII. Art in the Park- Marion J <br />Maryan got info from Northglenn and planned to meet with Susan M. to <br />discuss .She is ready to submit the package to City Attorney. CAFE will <br />cost $1200. Lynn W. agreed to provide a list of sculptors. There was a <br />discussion fundraising to raise $1000 for a prize. Don A. moved to make <br />the donation. Julie K seconded and the vote was unanimous. The <br />suggestion was made to invite Barbara M. to participate. <br />
