City Council Finance Committee
Meeting Minutes
02/20/17
PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA
None.
ENTERPRISE DASHBOARDS
The Finance Committee Members reviewed the dashboards provided by the Golf
Course.
Finance Committee Chairperson Stolzmann stated that the revised graph and
dashboard provided by the Golf Course were good. Member Stolzmann
requested that a graph be added to reflect 2016 actual revenue and
expenditures. Ms. Stolzmann stated she would like to see a 5 year average
developed as history is captured.
Golf Professional David Baril updated the Finance Committee on the positive
feedback and contacts gained during the recent 3 -day Denver Golf Show noting
that there were 9,000 visitors to the event, and that they acquired 800 new e-mail
addresses.
Director Stevens and Mr. Baril responded to Finance Committee questions
regarding lower than anticipated food and beverage sales. Director Stevens
stated that while the food vendor is currently behind in its payments to the City,
the vendor feels positive about the year ahead and has picked up additional
catering jobs. Mr. Baril stated that the food vendor's unanticipated purchase of a
food and beverage cart set them back a bit as well.
Finance Committee Members asked Director Stevens about the status of the
dashboards for the Recreation Center. Director Stevens stated that they had not
yet been developed. Members stated that there may be standard reports
available out of the current RecTrack software that could be used while
developing the new reporting. Director Stevens stated that he would follow-up on
what reporting may be available now.
Finance Committee Members reviewed the water usage and revenue graphs
provided electronically by Public Works Director, Kurt Kowar. Finance
Committee Member Stolzmann stated that she liked the 1st graph shown, but
requested the graph be presented as a bar chart, by customer class, by month.
Director Kowar stated the recommended change was easily doable.
Mayor Muckle asked Finance Committee Members which committee would be
reviewing these reports. Finance Committee Maloney stated that probably both
the Water Committee and the Finance Committee would be reviewing some of
the same information, but that the specifics could be further discussed.
3
