the importance being recognized locally for a National level award
from the EPA for outstanding operation and maintenance. He stated
that they were competing against thousands of other wastewater
plants, which is an assurance to the citizens of Louisville that
the Wastewater employees are very dedicated individuals, who take
their jobs very seriously. He thanked the Wastewater Plant staff,
Tom Phare, Director of Public Works, and Rocky Mountain
Consultants.

Phare stated that a flag was presented along with the award plaque
and the flag is proudly flying at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
He went on to say that in order for the Council to reflect on this
in the future years, they had small duplicate plaques made of the
EPA award plaque for the Mayor, Council, and Rocky Mountain
Consultants.

Mayor and Council added their sincere thanks and congratulations.

DISCUSSION/MOTION - ACCEPTANCE OF PLANNING COMMISSION
RECOMMENDATION - THE MEADOWS AT COAL CREEK FINAL PUD DEVELOPMENT
PLANAND FINAL SUBDIVISION PLAT

Annette Brand, City Administrator, explained that this is a
formality, as the Council has already approved the annexation and
the final PUD plan. This is a closure on the matter, which accepts
the acceptance that Council had already made several meetings ago.

Hornbostel moved that Council accept the Planning Commission's
recommendation. Seconded by Mayer. Roll call was taken. Motion
passed by a 5-0 vote with Lathrop and Sisk being absent.

REPORT FROM SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR: DESCRIPTION ANDEVALUATION
OF PAST EVENTS; PLANS FOR HOLIDAY PARADE OF LIGHTS; RECOMMENDATIONS
FOR 1993 EVENTS

Dianne Shanks, Special Events Coordinator, gave a detailed report
of the past events (SEE ATTACHED). She stated that the theme for
the Holiday Parade of Lights parade will be "Celebrating Holidays
Around the World".

Mayor and Council thanked Dianne Shanks and all of the volunteer
workers for all of their hard work on the events, citing the
feeling of "community" that everyone was feeling.

Mayer inquired about having the events be a more self-funding.

Shanks:

The committees for 1993 have not met
yet. We had probably $3,000.00
worth of unexpected expenses that we
didn't know were going to be there.
On the other side of it, we all know
that events can pay for themselves.

3
