City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />July 5, 2017 <br />Page 2 of 18 <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br />John Leary, 1116 LaFarge Avenue was concerned about the RFP for moving the <br />miner's cabins The Historic Preservation Commission had a meeting and many <br />expressed disbelief about the money proposed to be spent The meeting turned into a <br />discussion with the public on how to approach this move as a community project As a <br />result of this discussion, he recommended the cabins be moved to a temporary site if <br />need be and use volunteers, of which there were several, for more aspects of the <br />project He suggested Council reevaluate the approach <br />Jean Morgan, 1131 Spruce Street agreed the cost was too much to just move the <br />cabins She said there were a lot of volunteers and the cost could be reduced by using <br />those volunteers She did not want to spend so much money moving the cabins and <br />not have money to restore them. <br />APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA <br />MOTION. Council member Stolzmann asked for changes to both sets of minutes and <br />noted Council had copies of those proposed changes Mayor Muckle asked to move <br />item E concerning the miner's cabin to the first item on the regular business Mayor Pro <br />Tem Lipton asked to move item C, the IGA with Superior, to the end of the regular <br />business. Mayor Muckle moved to approve the consent agenda as amended, <br />seconded by Council member Loo All were in favor. <br />A. Approval of Bills <br />B. Approval of Minutes: June 6, 2017; June 13, 2017 <br />C. Approval of Resolution No. 32, Series 2017 - A Resolution Approving <br />an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Town of Superior to Develop <br />Eastern North South Corridor Transportation Cost Improvements - <br />moved to regular business <br />D. Approval of Resolution No. 33, Series 2017 - A Resolution Approving <br />the Police Department Master Plan <br />E. Approval of Request for Proposals for Historic Structure Relocation <br />and Stabilization (Miners Cabins) - moved to regular business <br />F. Authorization to Execute an Investment Management Services <br />Contract with Chandler Asset Management , <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br />AGENDA <br />Council member Maloney complimented staff for their good effort in producing a nice <br />July 4th celebration. He suggested the golf tee times the next day be scheduled later to <br />allow for cleanup <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />
