5/1084 Page -3- Up-date in Two Weeks Councilwoman Morris requested that Director Kasc:h give council an up-date of the dis- cussions with the County and School District. on i~his item within 2 weeks. Margaret Maj-LisKemper Mrs„ Kemper stated she had a 2Z year old 539 W. Laurel Court daughter who loves Louisville and would prok~ably like very much to cross South Boulder Road. There are a lot of parents in that neighborhood with small children that will be going to the new school. Urged Council to <~ddress this issue. Darlene McGovern Mrs.. McGovern stated there were 2 things. Mesa Point One day she stood for 20 minutes trying to get across South Boulder Road with 2 children then took a mad-dash across. About six months ago a boy was hit and she was very concerned. COUNCIL ITEMS Mayor Meier introduced Mr. Allen. DRCOG - PRESENTATION BY Mr. Allen stated that he was a member of FRED ALLEN - INNOVATION the City Council of Westminster and also AWARD PLAQUE a member of the Executive Committee of DRCOG. Stated it was a pleasure to have Cowlcil place him on the agenda and also a pleasure to corrmient especially when he reviewed the agenda and noticed that he was the 32nd item listed. He was Leary that he might be here for 2 or 3 hours and appre- ciated being first under the Council Items. Mr. Allen stated that Louisville won 2nd place in the Innovation and Awards Program this year for DRCOG. The program is sponsored by :both the regional council and Boettcher and Co. on an annual basis. Louisville re- cei~ved recognition and the award for its participation in a cooperative water and sewer service agreement with the Town of Superior which benefits both jurisdictions. That project received second. place in the category of Cooperative Service Delivery in the DRCOG awards program. It was his pleasure to present the City with the award as well as his sincere congratulations. He also wished all the council the best of luck and asked that they please continue with such great ideas. Mayor Meier gratefully accepted the award on behalf of Council.
