5/1084 Page -3- <br />Up-date in Two Weeks Councilwoman Morris requested that Director <br />Kasc:h give council an up-date of the dis- <br />cussions with the County and School District. <br />on i~his item within 2 weeks. <br />Margaret Maj-LisKemper Mrs„ Kemper stated she had a 2Z year old <br />539 W. Laurel Court daughter who loves Louisville and would <br />prok~ably like very much to cross South Boulder <br />Road. There are a lot of parents in that <br />neighborhood with small children that will <br />be going to the new school. Urged Council <br />to <~ddress this issue. <br />Darlene McGovern Mrs.. McGovern stated there were 2 things. <br />Mesa Point One day she stood for 20 minutes trying <br />to get across South Boulder Road with 2 <br />children then took a mad-dash across. About <br />six months ago a boy was hit and she was <br />very concerned. <br />COUNCIL ITEMS Mayor Meier introduced Mr. Allen. <br />DRCOG - PRESENTATION BY Mr. Allen stated that he was a member of <br />FRED ALLEN - INNOVATION the City Council of Westminster and also <br />AWARD PLAQUE a member of the Executive Committee of <br /> DRCOG. Stated it was a pleasure to have <br /> Cowlcil place him on the agenda and also <br /> a pleasure to corrmient especially when he <br /> reviewed the agenda and noticed that he <br /> was the 32nd item listed. He was Leary that <br /> he might be here for 2 or 3 hours and appre- <br /> ciated being first under the Council Items. <br /> Mr. Allen stated that Louisville won 2nd <br /> place in the Innovation and Awards Program <br /> this year for DRCOG. The program is sponsored <br /> by :both the regional council and Boettcher <br /> and Co. on an annual basis. Louisville re- <br /> cei~ved recognition and the award for its <br /> participation in a cooperative water and <br /> sewer service agreement with the Town of <br /> Superior which benefits both jurisdictions. <br /> That project received second. place in the <br /> category of Cooperative Service Delivery <br /> in the DRCOG awards program. It was his <br /> pleasure to present the City with the award <br /> as well as his sincere congratulations. <br /> He also wished all the council the best of <br /> luck and asked that they please continue <br /> with such great ideas. <br /> Mayor Meier gratefully accepted the award <br /> on behalf of Council. <br />
