5/1/84 Page -5-
for his friendship and dedication to the City.
MAYOR'S TASK FORCE - FINAL Couricilmembers were provided with a copy of
REPORT the final report by the members of the
Mayor's Task Force.
Richard Ackerman Mr. Ackerman read a prepared statement from
Vice Chairman Mr. John Topf, Chairman, who was unable to
attend because of a work commitment.
"Wit:h Richard's help I would like to make
4 comments about this report - the first
of its consensus document.. It was my hope
from the offset of this study to produce a
series of statements that clearly represented
all the attitudes and perspectives of the
Tas}; Force membership. This we, together,
did manage to accomplish.
Second it is the hope of the Task Force that
our recommendations will receive prompt and
ear_Ly consideration by the Council, Planning
Comnnission, and the City Staff.
Third, since we wrote this document as a
group it would be appropriate for each member
of 1.he Task Force an opportunity to respond
to any questions which might arise from the
reading of this report.
Fourth and lastly, I believe the membership
of 1'~he Task Force should be praised for their
unselfish and time consuming contributions
to ithe City of Louisville. This was an im-
porltant experience for me personally and I
am ]nappy to have shared so much with such
a remarkable group of individuals. Thank
you, Mayor .Meier for this opportunity".
Signed John Topf.
Several members of the Mayor's Task Force
were in attendance to answer ay questions.
Mr. Ackerman then read the summary of their
report. (Attached as Exhibit B)
Mayor Meier Thanked each of the members of ,the Task Force
for their diligency and time consuming efforts.
He commented he had given the Task Force
a lot of information and questions when
it was initiated - felt that they had answered
those questions most adequately. Mayor
Meier stated in answer to inquires directed
to him - he was not directly involved with
the Task Force as he did not want to prejudice
them. Expressed his sincere appreciation for
their dedication to the project and commended
them on a job very well done.
