3/.6/84 Page -7- <br />Recommendations made by councilmembers on <br />they funding were reducing the Flight for <br />Life commitment by $500-8,00; have the <br />DiY~ector of Finance review the City Council <br />and Mayor's budget to see if it could be <br />cut: to provide funding for the Teen Job <br />Barak; defer the request since it will <br />be August before their funding runs out; <br />provide funding contingent upon Job Bnak <br />matching the funds Council would provide. <br />REQUEST TABLED Councilman Woodson moved, Councilman Leary <br />seconded that the Teen Job Bank funding <br />request be tabled until March 20th meeting. <br />Councilwoman Morris Inquired when did Council authorize $2500 <br />for Flight for Life? <br />Administrator Wurl stated what the memo <br />should have said was what Council normally <br />provided was $2500 for Flight for Life but <br />Council had not dealt with it. Council- <br />woman Morris did not favor funding the <br />additional $400 which showed as a deficit <br />in the contingency fund. <br />~uncilwoman Johnson Favored tabling the request also and added <br />shE~ knew of another group that had .requested <br />funding and suggested a discussion by Council <br />fox- dealing with all the requests. <br />Councilman Leary Conunented that he felt that the issue that <br />Councilwoman Johnson brought up would be <br />more appropriately addressed in the budget <br />process. Didn't feel we should deal with <br />it at our next meeting or yin conjunction <br />wit=h this item. <br />Vote on the Motion QuE.stion called for. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously 7-0. <br />CORIN A. WOOD - ASST. councilmembers had a copy of a memo from <br />PROSECUTING ATTORNEY APPTMT. Prosecuting Attorney Bruce Joss requesting <br />th_Ls appointment. Attorney Rautenstraus <br />advised that Ms. Wood has been working with <br />Mr.. Joss on several of the cases over the <br />past 6-7 months, and without this type of <br />appointment she would be unable to appear <br />in County Court to represent the City on <br />Appeals or something in that vein. <br />Councilmen. Woodson and Leary, in the future, <br />favored having this position advertised and <br />the appointment made at the time Attorney <br />
