12/18/84 Page -5- Councilman Leary. stated that he felt strongly that it was the Council's role to do the interviewing for the position. Councilman Fauson concurred with Councilman Leary. COUNCIL/CITY ADMINISTRATaR City Administrator Hundley stated that during RETREAT - DISCUSSION his'. interviewing process one of the suggestions that he made to Council was that they seriously consider having a Council/City Administrator Retreat for the purpose of clarifying goals ands responsibilities. Also discussing some ways of improving communications and setting some goals that Council would like to see acr~ieved. Mr. Hundley suggested that this be done sometime in January and stated that there were several people who are very skilled in facilitating this type retreat. He recommended that Council set a date for this; he could recommend some facilitators and with Council's approval would select the one they would feel most comfortable with. Mr. Hund- ley suggested that this be an all day session preferably somewhere near Louisville, where everyone can be free of any distractions; and that it be held on a Saturday. Councilman Fauson Conunented that the public and press should be invited to the retreat session and that no more secret meetings should be held. He would not be present unless it was a public meeting. Councilmen Cussen and Luce took exception to Councilman Fauson's comment and requested that he substantiate the insinuation that secret meetings had been held, other than exE~cutive sessions. Mayor Meier suggested that Councilman Fauson get; with Councilmen Cussen and Luce to ex- plain his comment.
