12/18/84 Page -5- <br />Councilman Leary. stated that he felt strongly <br />that it was the Council's role to do the <br />interviewing for the position. <br />Councilman Fauson concurred with Councilman <br />Leary. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE ON THE MOTION Meier Yes <br />Luce Yes <br />Morris Yes <br />Johnson Yes <br />Fau.so n No <br />Leary No <br />Cussen Yes <br />Motion carried 5-2. <br />COUNCIL/CITY ADMINISTRATaR City Administrator Hundley stated that during <br />RETREAT - DISCUSSION his'. interviewing process one of the suggestions <br />that he made to Council was that they seriously <br />consider having a Council/City Administrator <br />Retreat for the purpose of clarifying goals <br />ands responsibilities. Also discussing some <br />ways of improving communications and setting <br />some goals that Council would like to see <br />acr~ieved. Mr. Hundley suggested that this <br />be done sometime in January and stated that <br />there were several people who are very <br />skilled in facilitating this type retreat. <br />He recommended that Council set a date for this; <br />he could recommend some facilitators and with <br />Council's approval would select the one they <br />would feel most comfortable with. Mr. Hund- <br />ley suggested that this be an all day session <br />preferably somewhere near Louisville, where <br />everyone can be free of any distractions; and <br />that it be held on a Saturday. <br />Councilman Fauson Conunented that the public and press should <br />be invited to the retreat session and that <br />no more secret meetings should be held. <br />He would not be present unless it was a public <br />meeting. <br />Councilmen Cussen and Luce took exception to <br />Councilman Fauson's comment and requested <br />that he substantiate the insinuation that <br />secret meetings had been held, other than <br />exE~cutive sessions. <br />Mayor Meier suggested that Councilman Fauson <br />get; with Councilmen Cussen and Luce to ex- <br />plain his comment. <br />
