7/19/84 <br />Page -6- <br />Mr. Shenk stated that Homart does not wish <br />to go forward unless all of Council feels <br />that the program is feasible and welcomed <br />any questions they may have of Mr. Bowning <br />and Mr. Smades. He then introduced Howard <br />Browning. <br />Howard Browning, 4251 Kipling, Mr. Browning stated that he was Vice Presi- <br />Wheat Ridge duet and Manager of Civil Engineering KKBNA. <br />KKBNA is an old line consulting engineering <br />firm and are the largest Denver based con- <br />sulting engineering firm in the Rocky Mtn. <br />are<~ They are currently 253 of the top 500 <br />engineering firms in the coutnry; have a <br />staff of over 200 with approximately 180 <br />of those in the Denver office. KKBNA offers <br />fu1:1 service, civil engineering and structural <br />engineering to their clients and have com- <br />pleted approximately 8,000 projects in the <br />Rocky Mountain area as well as throughout the <br />United States. Every project that they have <br />has a principal, owner of the firm, in charge <br />of the project. There are two of the owners <br />in the firm present this evening. They have <br />consistent staff attention to their projects; <br />don't change project managers and work with <br />their clients .for a practical solution to <br />completion. <br />Mr. Browning stated that he had 25 years <br />engineering experience; 15 of which have <br />been in municipal utilities; design engineer, <br />planner, Director of Utilities, Director of <br />Public Works and Planning Director. He has <br />been in the situation that Louisville is now <br />in. He felt that they were qualified to do <br />the job and would like to do it if the City <br />Council wishes that it be pursued. <br />Roger Smades, KKBNA Consulting <br />Firm Mr. Smades stated that he had spent 10 years <br />with the Water Quality Control Division for <br />the State of Colorado. Previously spent 8 <br />years in Consulting Engineering in 35 states <br />and. 3 countries; and the last 5 years with <br />KKBNA. He advised that they had been re- <br />tained by Louisville Associates to fast track <br />getting the Howard Berry Treatment Plant on <br />line over 3 scenarios - the 2MGD plant, a <br />4MDG plant and then to build a 2MGD immediately <br /> <br />
