Plant material shall meet or exceed current American Standard for Nursery <br />Stock ASNIIZ60.1 and the Colorado Nursery Act and 'accompanying rules <br />and regulations. <br />2. Plant material shall have a habit of growth that is normal for the species. <br />They shall be healthy, vigorous, and free rrom insect pests, plant diseases <br />and injuries. Planting shall conform to all applicable and local codes and <br />regulations. Plant material may be rejected if in the project managers <br />opinion, they fail to meet specified quality or appearance. Remove rejected <br />material promptly from the site. <br />3. Contractor to contact the utility notification center of Coiorado before <br />digging and is responsible for damage to utilities resulting from their work. <br />4. Verify all conditions at the job site and notify the owner and project <br />manager of any errors or discrepancies prior to commencing work. <br />5. Trees shall be irrigated by a commercial grade, fully automatic underground <br />irrigation system. Irrigation to be adjusted to meet the needs of the plant <br />material. <br />6. Trees locations shall be staked by the landscape contrac;ror for review by <br />the owner's representative or landscape architect. All adjustments shall be <br />made by the contractor. The contractor shall no( dig plant pits until <br />locations are approved. <br />7. Plants shall not reg i rain on the site of the work longer than three (3) days <br />prior to planting. Deliver trees atter preparation for planting has been <br />completed and plant immediately. If planting i s delayed more than six (6) <br />hours after delivery, set trees and shrubs in shade, protect from weather <br />and mechanical damage, and keep roots most by cover with mulch, burlap <br />or other acceptable means of retaining moisture. Keep all roots moist <br />before, during and after planting. Duration and method of storage are <br />subject to the project managers approval. <br />8. Handling: Do not drop plants. Do not lift plants by the truck, stems, or <br />foliage. Handle plants by the ball or the container. Balled plants will be <br />rejected if the ball is broken or the trunk is loose in the ball. Major <br />damage shall be cause for rejection as determined by the project manager. <br />9.
