She presented the results of a survey she took at various crosswalks in <br />Louisville. The survey reflected drivers are not observing the right-of-way to pedestrians <br />in the crosswalks. She suggested the Police Department send officers to the school to <br />speak with the students and noted that the public should also be educated as to the <br />importance of observing pedestrian right-of-way in the crosswalks. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Council member Keany responded to the crosswalk issue addressed by Ms. Pawlas, and <br />noted the Louisville Youth Advisory Board has discussed possible solutions. <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons read a letter from the Chamber of Commerce thanking the <br />City of Louisville Street, Parks and Police Departments for their assistance in making the <br />Parade of Lights a success. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk thanked Council member Brown for coordinating a night at CU basketball. <br />He thanked the sponsors Wells Fargo, Bank of Louisville, Avista Hospital and Elite <br />Chiropractic. He thanked Cal Marsella for his presentation on Fastracks. He addressed <br />the discussions in the Library Steering Committee's meeting. He reported on a meeting <br />with Representative Brandon Shaffer and stated he looks forward to working with him. <br /> <br /> <br />
