City f <br />Om Louisville <br />COLORADO SINCE 1878 <br />Open Space Advisory Board Meeting Minutes <br />Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 <br />Louisville Public Library: First Floor Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br />7:00 pm <br />I. Call to Order- Helen called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm. <br />II. Roll Call - <br />Board Members Present: Helen Moshak, Laura Scott Denton, David Blankinship, <br />Missy Davis, Mike Schantz, Peter Gowan, Jim Gibb, Fiona Garvin <br />Board Members Absent: None <br />City Council Members Present: Jeff Lipton <br />Staff Members Present: Ember Brignull, Joe Stevens <br />III. Approval of Agenda - <br />Laura moved to approve the agenda as written. Missy seconded. The motion <br />was passed unanimously. <br />IV. Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes - <br />Peter found several small typos and shared them with Ember. <br />Peter moved to approve the minutes with the aforementioned changes. Mike <br />seconded. The motion was passed unanimously. <br />VI. Staff Updates - <br />A. Ember shared some bike bells, doggie bag dispensers, and dog water bowls <br />with the City of Louisville Open Space logo that can be given to citizens as positive re - <br />enforcement "thank -you" gifts when the ranger observes good etiquette. Helen asked <br />about the budget for this program. Ember said she'd have to check for the exact <br />number, but estimated they had spent about $300 for the dog related items. <br />B. Callahan Trail is still closed. A few months ago, the City of Lafayette replaced <br />a water main on the north side of the property, along Baseline Rd. This water line is <br />apparently damaged and leaking. Lafayette is being responsive to the problem and is <br />taking the initiative to repair the damage. <br />C. Staff closed the HOA access to Coyote Run Open Space. It was close to the <br />slope slump and this measure was taken to keep people away from the area. <br />D. A Poo Crew clean up event was held on a recent weekend day at the <br />Davidson Mesa Dog Off -leash Area (DOLA). Approximately 52 people participated, <br />including a City of Louisville police officer in uniform and the ranger. 28 pounds of waste <br />was removed. <br />E. Staff will meet tomorrow with the CSU students doing a cheatgrass control <br />study using an herbicide called Esplande on Davidson Mesa. They will be sharing the <br />results of this study. Ember has asked CSU to present finding to OSAB. <br />F. The new education sign for Lake Park is currently being manufactured. Ember <br />also shared a draft for the education sign for the Hecla Lake bird blind. <br />G. Staff is reviewing the RFPs for an one-year 2018 GIS consultant.
