Recreation Advisory Board
Minato®
4/23/2018
Pap 5of7
ADDENDUM 1
Branding Survey for the Recreation Advisory Board
What is a brand?
Branding is a set of marketing and communication methods that help to distinguish a company or
products from competitors, aiming to create a lasting impression in the minds of customers.
A brand is your logo, your website, your tagline, your color scheme, your building, your
employees, your management team, your culture, your products or services, your pricing model
and the way you do business. A brand is the sum of all of those things working together to create
a positive emotional experience for your customer and compel people to do business with you
rather than your competitor.
A brand is used to create perceptions and expectations in customers' minds concerning the
qualities and attributes of its product our service. A brand name can create and stand for loyalty,
trust, faith, quality or mass-market appeal, depending on how the brand is marketed, advertised
and promoted.
Put simply, your "brand" is what your prospect thinks of when he or she hears your name. It tells
them what they can expect from your products and services, and it differentiates your offering
from that of your competitors. Your brand is derived from who you are, who you want to be and
who people perceive you to be.
Our Mission
The mission of the City of Louisville Division of Recreation and Senior Services is to provide
recreational activities and leisure services that contribute to the physical, mental, and social well-
being of the citizens.
Defining the new Recreation 1 Senior Center Brand
How do you currently use our facility?
What time of day do you most use the facility?
How would you describe the current brand of the Recreation 1 Senior Center?
Do you think there is a perceived "image" of the Recreation 1 Senior Center that needs to be
changed?
