Lg/Sm Dog Areas? <br />When facility size allows a separate small dog area should be included <br />7 of the municipalities have separate small dog areas. <br />Density (acreage per dog in <br />city?) <br />Goal of having a facility within 2 miles of every resident and within 1 mile of areas of with multifamily <br />housing concentration <br />No guidelines on acres/resident but some municipalities <br />have guidelines of 1-2 miles from residents. Some focus <br />on multifamily housing <br />Trash containers (per acre?) <br />At facility entry points and available within 200 ft of all parts of facility <br />No specific guidance <br />Dog play structures (Y/N) <br />Natural elements such as earthern tunnels, berms, rocks if appropriate for facility <br />No specific guidance <br />Water features (Y/N) <br />Avoid sensative riparian corridors and surface waters. If manmade water features are provided, must to <br />engineered to insure water quality can be maintained with anticipated user volume <br />No specific recommendation on water features but one <br />recommendation for drinking water access <br />Other <br />Consider "fit" into surrounding park areas; dog park should match the look of surrounding area <br />Number of comments regarding volunteer group efforts <br />for clean up.
