Planning Commission
Meeting Minutes
September 13, 2018
Zuccaro added that the plan would address gaps in the system that would help the
Commission work with applicants. The policies that would make this possible are still
under examination.
Howe noted that no rail issues were addressed in the plan.
Libhart stated that the plan would eventually address rail. TEI had been discussing with
Public Works and other departments how to accommodate future options such as a
train station.
Hoefner noted that no amount of public outreach was too much to avoid community
discombobulation and backlash.
Libhart replied that so far City staff and TEI have gone out into the community rather
than asking the community to come to them. There would also be focus groups for the
business community and for groups who have income and/or mobility restrictions. They
also had paper -copy maps available that they have been handing out and an online
map.
Moline predicted that the more detailed the plan became the more the public would
become involved.
Hsu echoed the Council comment about needing to reach out to drivers in addition to
other groups.
Libhart replied that they had already gotten feedback from people who are concerned
about what will happen when they have to share more of the road with other modes of
transportation.
None.
COMMISSIONER COMMENTS
STAFF COMMENTS
Zuccaro introduced the newest member of planning staff, Felicity Selvoski.
