Later Owners
In 1964, John L. Tracy purchased 317 Roosevelt. He had in 1960 purchased about 500
acres of the Beauprez cattle ranch for development in Louisville and later purchased
additional acreage. He then transferred to his business partner, W.R. Brooks, a half
interest in the property at 317 Roosevelt. A 1965 advertisement in the Louisville Times
newspaper indicated that the house was for rent and that it had been recently
remodeled. In 1966, they sold 317 Roosevelt to Elbert B. & Betty J. McCray. In 1971,
they sold it to Karl Salki. The owners became Karl Salki and Robert Szakai. They sold it in
1981 to Larry Williams and Joanne Wiswell, who owned it until 1983, when they sold it
to James E and Barbara M. Ficke. The Ficke family owned the property until 1995, when
they sold it to Robert W. Hansen. He sold it in 1996 to Kristen Moeller and David
Cottrell. They sold it in 1999 to David Cast.
David Cast transferred his ownership of the property in 2003 to Lynn Tidd & Paul Alden.
When Paul Alden died in 2006, the sole owner became Alden's stepdaughter, Lynn Tidd.
In 2008, the owners became both Lynn Tidd and Jose P. Lopez III. The County lists them
as the current owners of record.
The exact year for when an addition was put on the back of the house could not be
located for this report.
The preceding research is based on a review of relevant and available online County property records,
census records, oral history interviews, Louisville directories, and Louisville Historical Museum maps, files,
and obituary records.
5
