The Mossonis' daughter, Virginia, married Joe Carnival in 1946 and the young couple moved in
with her parents at 836 Main. They continued to live at this location throughout their marriage.
In 1968, Lawrence and Marie Mossoni legally transferred the property to their daughter and
son-in-law. Joe Carnival was himself very active in the Louisville community. The Historical
Commission posthumously awarded him with the Pioneer Award in 2001 for his civic
contributions.
In 1996, Virginia Mossoni Carnival conveyed ownership of the property at 836 Main to her sons,
Randy Carnival and Gary Carnival. The Carnivals conveyed ownership of the property out of the
family in 2005.
The earliest known clear photo of 836 Main, from circa 1925 (with Marie Mossoni on the steps),
is shown here:
This photo shows the Mossoni House in about 1930 to the south of the Henning Mortuary:
The following photo from circa 1930 shows Marie Mossoni with Larrella Forbis alongside the
house, looking towards Main Street.
