Local Licensing Authority <br />Minutes <br />September 24, 2018 <br />Page 4of4 <br />Watson moved the Local Licensing Authority of the City of Louisville approve <br />the issuance of a Special Events Permit for Superior Rugby Football Club at <br />Community Park. Kaufman seconded. All in favor. <br />B. Conversation with Chief Hayes <br />The Chief was unable to attend. <br />Police Department Reports <br />Sergeant Redard noted there were no reports to be considered. <br />Secretary's Report <br />Hanson said she had issued a special event permit to Guys Who Give for an <br />event on September 21 at Steinbaugh Pavilion. <br />Authority Attorney's Report <br />No report. <br />Authority Comment <br />Machado asked about the City Council's role in the events such as the one just <br />heard by the Authority. Authority Attorney Culley noted the Council has <br />delegated the approval of these events to the City Clerk. The Clerk is bound by <br />certain criteria. <br />Carlson noted the State Liquor Enforcement Division has been looking at special <br />event liquor permits and may enforce the non-profit having a more integral role in <br />the event. Authority members discussed the issue of the non-profit involvement <br />in for profit events. <br />Adjourn — Watson moved to adjourn. Carlson seconded. All in favor. The <br />meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m. <br />The Authority adjourned to Open Government training led by Authority Attorney <br />Melinda Culley. Authority members Brown, Kaufman and Carlson along with <br />Secretary Hanson participated in the training. <br />
