The building's exterior walls are painted beige
horizontal weatherboard, with painted buff red 1" by 4" corner boards.
The roof is a moderately -pitched front gable, with an intersecting gabled
to the north elevation. Other windows of note include a
canted hipped -roof bay on the south elevation, and two 8-light casement
windows in an enclosed shed -roofed rear porch, at the east end of the
south elevation. A painted brown and green wood -paneled door, with
six upper sash lights, and with a painted green wood screen door, opens
onto a concrete porch which extends along the south end of the facade.
Painted buff red and green turned columns support a low-pitched hipped
porch roof. The house's secondary entrance is located on the east
elevation. Two non -historic lxl horizontal sliding glass bypass doors,
open onto a large non -historic redwood deck, covered by a shed roof.
A Garage is located southeast of the house. Dating from the period of
significance, this building features a low concrete perimeter walls
foundation, and very rare stone exterior walls. A small flat -roofed
extension, located at the east end of the north elevation, is also of stone
construction. The roof is a moderately -pitched front gable, with green
asphalt shingles, over lx wood decking and 2x wood rafters. One red brick chimney is located just below the
ridge at the east end of the north facing roof slope. Windows are paired
and tripled 4-light fixed -panes, with painted green wood frames, and
painted buff red wood surrounds. Two, painted green and red, horizontal
sliding garage doors, on the west elevation, open onto a seldom -used
driveway which extends along the south side of the house to Lincoln
Avenue. A vertical wood plank door, side hinged with metal strap
hinges, is located on the south elevation.
29.Construction History (include description and dates of major additions,
alterations, or demolitions:
Boulder County Assessor records indicate that this building was
constructed in 1900. This date is plausible given the house's architectural
character, and that the Pleasant Hill Addition was platted in 1900. This
house was likely one of the first built in this neighborhood. A possible
gabled addition to the north elevation predates 1950. The garage and
shed also date from the period of significance.
23. Landscape or setting special features:
This property is located on the east side of
Lincoln Avenue in one of Louisville's older
residential neighborhoods. A planted grass front
yard, and a large side yard to the south, features
minimal landscaping. A planted grass backyard
is enclosed by a chain link fence.
24.
