Statement of Significance This building is historically significant, relative to National Register Criterion A, for its association with early sustained commercial development in downtown Louisville. Due to a lack of integrity, though, the building should be considered ineligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places, and as a non-contributing property within a potential downtown Louisville historic district. 43. Assessment of historic physical integrity related to significance: This building's historical integrity has been compromised by particle board siding put up on the west and south elevations, and by the wood shingles applied to the parapet walls, also on the west and south elevations. The building's windows and doors have also been altered. In its present condition, the building is no longer able to convey a sense of its historic significance.
