Resource Number: 5BL 956
Temporary Resource Number: 157508434002
Otto and Jane Todd owned and operated the Isis Theatre until 1918 and Otto became an insurance agent. He died in
1929 after suffering what appeared to be a stroke while driving.
During their married life together, Jane and Otto Todd lived at what is today's 705 Jefferson (5BL11294), which was
owned by her family. However, in 1936, as a widow, she purchased 624 Pine. She was active in the Louisville
community. Her 1965 obituary states that she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Louisville, Spanish
American War Auxiliary, Boulder Elks Widows Club, Baptist mission circle, Louisville Garden Club, and the Past
Presidents Parley of the Legion Auxiliary.
Research suggests that Jane Todd rented out the building on the property. The 1951 directory shows that Thomas
and Nancy Berry were living at the rear of 624 Pine. The 1959 directory shows Alice Zimmerman as a resident of
"624 '/2 Pine." It is unknown whether this refers to one of the outbuildings that is currently on the site.
Following the death of Jane Beveridge Todd in 1965, her sister, Janette Telford Prior, became her executor and
owned the house until 1976.
The next owners of the house included James Goudelock and Jo Ann Feigenheimer, Everett Hilty and Clyde Hilty,
William Munn, and the current owners, Vincent and Joanne Dickstein.
The only other address that could be found for 624 Pine, which was under Louisville's old address system, was 512
Pine (found in the 1916 directory).
36.
