General Architectural Description <br />The Nading House is a one-story wood frame dwelling, <br />situated on an oversized residential lot, just to the west of <br />downtown Louisville. The house is supported by a low <br />concrete foundation, and the exterior walls are painted <br />yellow horizontal weatherboard, with painted blue 1" by 4" <br />corner boards. Painted yellow vertical wood plank siding <br />appears in the upper gable ends. The intersecting gables <br />roof has wood shingles and boxed eaves. There are no <br />chimneys. Windows are entirely non -original lx1 horizontal <br />sliders, with painted blue wood frames and surrounds. The <br />house's facade is located on the south elevation. A stained <br />natural brown solid wood door, with an aluminum storm <br />door, opens onto a wood porch, at the east end of the <br />facade. The porch, which wraps around to cover part of the <br />east elevation, has an open wood balustrade, and painted <br />blue turned columns, which support a low-pitched hipped <br />porch roof. A secondary entrance is located on the house's <br />north elevation, where a panted blue wood -paneled door <br />opens onto a concrete stoop, from an enclosed shed -roofed <br />rear porch. <br />A Storage Shed is located in the backyard, north of the <br />house. This is a small wood frame structure, with a concrete <br />slab foundation and floor, and painted yellow horizontal <br />weatherboard walls, with painted blue 1" by 4" corner <br />boards. It has a shed roof, with asphalt shingles over lx <br />wood decking and 2x wood rafters. One 2-light window, <br />with a metal frame, is located on the west elevation. A <br />painted yellow wood -paneled door is located on the south <br />elevation. <br />29.Constructlon History (include description and dates of major additions, <br />alterations, or demolitions: <br />Boulder County Assessor records list 1900 as this building's <br />year of construction. Sanborn insurance maps, though, <br />provide evidence that the house was actually constructed <br />prior to 1893. <br />23.
