Statement of Significance <br />This building was historically significant, relative to National Register Criterion A, for its association with <br />commercial development in Louisville during its period of significance. The building was also architecturally <br />notable, under National Register Criterion C, as a representative wood frame front gabled commercial building. <br />Due to a substantial loss of integrity, though, the building is ineligible for individual listing in the National Register <br />of Historic Places. It would also be considered a non-contributing resource within a potential downtown Louisville <br />historic district. <br />43. Assessment of historic physical integrity related to significance: <br />This building's historical integrity has been severely impacted by additions to the north and east elevations, which <br />have more than doubled the size of the original building, and by the addition of a false -front parapet wall. <br />
