MORRIS: Would the applicant make his presentation please.

A presentation by John Felton, Operations Manager, representing Denstar, Inc./dba Denny's
Restaurant for a beer and wine license was given. The applicant re/noved the request for extended'~ .
hours. They would not be serving after 8 p.m. on Sundays, the main purpose for the license is to
handle the overflow from Applebee's and to compliment the dinner menu.

MORRIS:

Does any interested party in the audience have questions of the applicant?

NONE

Do any members of the Authority have questions of the applicant?

EVANS:

Please explain what you mean by overflow from Applebee's?

APPLICANT:

We are also franchisees of Applebee's in the State of California. Applebee's
will experience certain times such as, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 5:30
p.m. to 7:00 p.m., where the wait in a typical Applebee's will be one hour
and fifteen minutes. Therefore, people would like to dine next door at
Denny's, we can actually compliment the dinner with a beer or wine drink.

MORRIS:

The petitions state Hotel & Restaurant Liquor License with extended hours
instead of beer and wine.

APPLICANT:

MOKRIS:

I was duplicating a past petition that was circulated in the City of
Louisville. That was my error. It should read just beer and wine.

There appeared to be some signatures from the City of Lafayette.

APPLICANT:

Some of the signatures that were obtain were from businesses in the
surrounding areas. The signatures were from employees or managers who
work in Louisville but may reside in Lafayette and listed their home
addresses.

JEFFERS:

I have a question on the name of the applicant and the name on the building
lease agreement. The application before us is in the name of Denstar
Corp.. The lease for the building is in the name of Joseph M. Chong, who
I believe is the majority shareholder in the corporation. Has that lease been
assigned to Denstar Corp. or is it still in his name?

APPLICANT:

We buy a piece of property sell it back and then lease that property. The
property is bought under Denstar II Corp., which is our real estate holding
and also a separate corporation that is set aside for just Joe and his wife.
Under our umbrella, we operate nine corporations.

JEFFERS:

The land and building lease is under Denstar II, because it is a real estate
matter. My concern is if the lease of the building is in the name of Mr.
Chong, not in the name of Denstar Corp., that the applicant Denstar Corp.
does not have control of the premises. Was this done previously where the

4
