Cultural Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />15 November 2018 <br />City Hall, Spruce Room <br />749 Main Street <br />6:30pm <br />I. Call to Order <br />II. Roll Call — Members present: Kate Ward, Leah Franks, Blake Welch, Adam Sloat, Sean <br />Moynihan, Angie Layton, Jennifer Strand, Debbie Davies, Mike Crowe <br />Members absent: Mark Cathcart <br />City Representatives present: Katie Zoss, Jeff Lipton <br />III. Attendance and Volunteer Hours Log were circulated <br />IV. Approval of Today's Agenda: all approved <br />V. Correction and/or Approval of October Meeting Minutes: none <br />VI. Public Comments: none <br />VII. Public Art Installation: No public comments. Public notice was posted 10/30/18 to install the <br />next "fire" themed sculpture. All voted and approved to accept the donation of the sculpture to <br />install in Community Park. The City will have 45 days to approve. <br />VIII. Chair's Report (Adam): Adam encouraged the group to think about programming regarding <br />underserved populations such as Indian and Asian cultural events. Officer elections will take <br />place at January meeting. <br />IX. Treasurer's Report (Debbie): Lawrence updated balance sheets and total ear marked for <br />public art. Will budget for next art installation. Debbie will remind Lawrence to take $500 due <br />from City for food trucks from 2017. <br />X. Staff Report (Katie): <br />a. There are 5 applicants for vacancies on the LCC for 2019 <br />b. Hired part-time marketing person until the end of the year to help with posters, etc. <br />c. Life In Louisville photo contest photos will be displayed at the Rec Center for 2 weeks <br />d. Budget improvements are looking good for increases, Adam & Dan (sound for <br />summer concerts) have requested to be involved/consult on stage placement once <br />budget/improvements are approved. <br />e. Street Faire dates are set and they are looking for a new coordinator <br />XI. City Council Report (Jeff): Budget resolutions will be finalized at the end of November. Jeff <br />updated the group re: what is permitted for use in the McCaslin area being considered for <br />redevelopment. Katie will email the group a link to specifications on what is allowed in that <br />space for our information. <br />XII. Sculpture Park <br />a. Good turnout for unveiling. Agreed no major changes were needed for ceremony <br />except for a plan to order future plaques with more time in advance. Erin Robertson read <br />her poem (attached) and an estimated 60 people were in attendance. <br />
