Mr. Gerr introduced Jane Rowland, General Manager for the Courtyard by Marriott - Louisville, who is <br />responsible for the day-to-day operation, hiring of staff, training programs, quality assurance, the overall <br />food and beverage sales and service and financial matters. The Marriott will serve breakfast seven days <br />a week it is a full breakfast buffet and in the evenings there will be a choice of five to six entrees. There <br />is a 12 day certified training session for all food servers, part of this training session includes sales and <br />service of alcoholic beverages, There is also a 2-hour workshop which will include Colorado liquor <br />laws and a video tape put out by Marriott called "Serving Alcohol Responsibly" and the Louisville <br />program, "all" employees will be required to go through these two programs. All of the Marriott <br />training has testing which enables the server to be certified. <br /> <br />Mr. Gerr introduced Bruce White, owner of the Courtyard by Marriott and President of White Lodging <br />Services, a hotel development managing company based out of Maryville, IN. Manage approximately <br />40 hotels throughout the United States, almost exclusively Marriott and have been in business since <br />1985. <br /> <br />Mr. Gerr introduced Max Scott, owner of Oedipus, Inc., a surveying company. Mr. Scott gave a brief <br />overview of the survey results regarding the request for a Hotel & Restaurant license for the Courtyard <br />by Marriott - Louisville. The survey results show that this type of license is desirable, 416 signatures in <br />favor and 47 opposing. <br /> <br />The Authority reviewed the diagram of the premises and requested that modifications be made on the <br />map regarding areas of use. The applicant will submit a revised map to the Authority Secretary. Ms. <br />Rowland explained to the Authority that the lounge is only open until 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The hours <br />are posted and room service would only deliver alcoholic beverages during the hours that the lounge is <br />open. <br /> <br />The Authority needed confirmation on the term of the lease agreement and franchise license - it must be <br />a minimum of at least one year, the term of the liquor license. The term of the franchise license is <br />twenty year with an option. The Authority requested that the applicant submit a copy of the franchise <br />license agreement for the file that would be adequate. <br /> <br />The Authority expressed their appreciation to Max Scott for an exceptional survey.
