La <br />Cityof <br />Louisville <br />PARKS & RECREATION <br />Memorandum <br />To: Open Space Advisory Board <br />From: Ember Brignull, Open Space Superintendent <br />Date: August 14, 2019 <br />Re: Staff Updates <br />General: <br />• Phone Interviews for the Ranger Naturalist Position are currently scheduled for August <br />1st <br />• The Senior Natural Resource Position is currently vacant. <br />• There are three Great Blue Heron chicks on the platform nest at Hecla Open Space. <br />• The Louisville Boulder County Youth Corps team has completed their work for the <br />season. <br />• Open Space Zoning Scope of Work was presented to City Council on July 29tn <br />• Staff will be preparing the bid packet for the Coyote Run Trail work. <br />• Staff will be initiating discussions with Rocky Mountain Fire Protection District in <br />preparation for fall prescribed fire. <br />Education: <br />Past: <br />• Saturday, July 6th from 8:00 to 10:00 am, Pulling for Colorado. Davidson Mesa Open <br />Space. 7 participants. <br />• Tuesday, July 9th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, Camping 101. Louisville Library, first floor <br />meeting room. 6 participants. <br />• Thursday, July 25th from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, Volunteer Weed Pull. Bullhead Gulch Open <br />Space. 7 participants. <br />• Friday, July 26th from 7:30 to 9:00 pm, Brilliant Bats. Coal Creek Golf Course (meet at <br />Clubhouse). 28 participants. <br />Upcoming: <br />• Saturday, August 17th from 9:00 to 10:00 am, Walkin' and Talkin' with the Mayor.
