11: City,/ <br />im Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />COMMUNICATION <br />SUBJECT: <br />SALES TAX REPORTS FOR THE MONTH ENDED SEPTEMBER <br />30, 2019 <br />DATE: NOVEMBER 22, 2019 <br />PRESENTED BY: PENNEY BOLTE, FINANCE DEPARTMENT <br />SUMMARY: <br />Attached are the monthly revenue reports for sales tax, lodging tax, auto use tax, <br />consumer use tax, and building use tax for the month ending September 30, 2019. Also <br />included are the monthly and quarterly reports on sales tax revenue by area, by industry <br />for both inside -City and outside -City vendors, revenue by area graphs for restaurants, <br />and historical revenue. <br />Total revenue through September 2019 for the specific taxes contained on the Revenue <br />History report, increased 7.6% YTD from the same period in 2018. <br />The month of September 2019 ended with total sales tax revenue up 6.2% from <br />September 2018. YTD sales tax revenue through Q3-2019 is 12.8% above 2018 and <br />3.6% above projections. Excluding audit revenue, sales tax is trending 4.8% above 2018 <br />YTD. <br />Lodging tax revenue for September 2019 increased 2.6% from September 2018, and YTD <br />revenue through Q3-2019 is down 4.3% as compared to 2018. However, lodging tax <br />revenue is currently 3.3% above projections. <br />Auto use tax revenue for September 2019 decreased 38.8% from September 2018. YTD <br />revenue through Q3-2019 is down 10.3% to 2018 and is 2.1% above current projections. <br />Building use tax revenue for September 2019 decreased 51.5% from September 2018. <br />YTD revenue through Q3-2019 is 7.6% below 2018 revenue YTD, and 7.0% below <br />projections. <br />Consumer use tax revenue for September 2019 decreased 39.7% from September 2018, <br />but YTD revenue through Q3-2019 is currently 7.7% above 2018. Consumer use is 4.2% <br />above projections. Excluding audit revenue, consumer use tax is trending 25.0% above <br />2018 YTD. <br />The monthly and quarterly sales tax revenue by area reports represent the YTD retail <br />health of various quadrants of the City.
