Cultural Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Thursday, February 20, 2020 <br />Louisville Public Library, 951 Spruce St, Louisville, CO <br />First Floor Meeting Room <br />6:30pm <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br />II. Roll Call <br />a. Members present: Beth McLennan, Robby Pitt, Kate Ward, Leah Franks, Mark Cathcart, <br />Adam Sloat, Debbie Davies, Tami Owen, Kim Poletti <br />b. Members absent: Rachel Weaver <br />c. City Representatives present: Katie Zoss <br />III. Attendance and Volunteer Hours Log were circulated. <br />IV. Approval of Today’s Agenda: _____ motioned to approve, ____ seconded, all approved. <br />V. Public Comments: We had three visitors; Gregory Fields, Christoph Schoftes, and Stephen <br />Ross—they were curious about the grants award process and came to observe. <br />VI. Correction and/or Approval of November Meeting Minutes: ___ motioned to approve, _____ <br />seconded, all approved. <br />VII. Chair’s report (Adam): <br />VIII. Treasurer’s Report (Debbie): <br />a. Pointed out the funds that would be used for grants, public art in the budget. <br />b. Noted that there is $14,688.79 to additionally spend—probably also on public art. <br />IX. Staff Report (Katie): <br />a. Katies has started research on what other Front Range communities are spending on <br />public art. Samples include: <br />i. Art fees: 1% from public projects, $150 per unit on private residential <br />development, $.05 per square foot from commercial development. <br />b. Passed around a sheet with information on Lafayette’s public art funding methods. <br />c. Bikes to books program at the library and Steinbaugh Pavilion. <br />i. Event is May 9. <br />ii. We could fund Jeff and Paige as the entertainment for part of the event. <br />iii. Their fee is $1200. Beth moved and Kim seconded to fund their performance as <br />long as they play 60 minutes. <br />X. 2020 Programming <br />a. Winter programming: <br />i. 1/25 Ivalas Quartet (Leah)—a sellout show, great bang for the buck! <br />ii. 2/15 Lonesome Days (Leah)—also a sellout, very popular. <br />b. Spring Programming:
