City staff, <br />including the City Manager’s Office and Police Department, are participating in regular <br />phone calls with the Boulder Emergency Operations Center that include all Boulder <br />County municipalities, the Sheriff’s Office, public information officers, fire <br />districts/departments, state health officials, school districts/institutions and courts. The <br />City has responded by updating policies and procedures in response to the evolving <br />situation. Below is a summary of those efforts: <br /> <br />SAFE PRACTICES: <br />The City continues to remind everyone to protect themselves by doing the following: <br /> Comply with all public health orders. <br /> Stay at home and conduct only those essential activities necessary to promote <br />health and well-being (i.e. getting groceries, obtaining medical <br />supplies/medication, engaging in outdoor activities like walking, hiking or running <br />while continuing to maintain strict social distancing practices (minimum of 6 feet <br />from others). <br /> If you are sick, stay home. Contact a health care provider for guidance if you are <br />experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. <br /> Wash your hands frequently – remember to wash your hands after coughing or <br />sneezing. Wash with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water <br />are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% <br />alcohol to clean hands. <br /> Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing. <br /> Practice social distancing and avoid close contact with others (within 6 feet). <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEALTH ORDERS: <br />Boulder County Public Health (BCPH) has issued a Public Health Order asking <br />residents to stay at home. The order went into effect at 8 am on March 26th through <br />April 17th. The intent of the order is to reduce the rapid spread of COVID-19 in the <br />community and protect our health care facilities from being overwhelmed by cases. <br />Residents can learn more about the order by visiting <br />https://www.bouldercounty.org/news/three-metro-denver-public-health-departments- <br />4
