Planning Commission
Meeting Minutes
November 9, 2017
Johnson said it functioned as a two-way alley.
Pritchard stated that the City would need to address the one-way versus two-way issue. He
recommended getting height elevations for Empire and Wildwood for before presenting to City
Council.
Michael Menaker 1827 West Chokecherry Drive, Louisville, stated that the Zucca building had a
long history and that the PUD keeps the front of the building the same, preserving the setback.
He added that no neighbor views would be affected by the PUD and that two-story PUDs are
pending for Main Street, and no one knew what would be proposed for Wildwood and the
Empire once they were sold. Menaker stated that change and reinvestment will continue and
was a welcome sign. He added that the owners, the Martinellis, have been good neighbors to
Louisville. He urged the Commission to approve the PUD.
Pritchard requested discussion from the Commission.
Rice, Moline, Pritchard, Sheets, and Hsu voiced their support. Rice added that it was a good
investment downtown and Moline added that the HPC approved of the PUD.
Moline moved and Hsu seconded a motion to approve the Final PUD to allow the construction
of a two-story rear addition at 808 Main Street Roll (PUD-035-2017.) Roll call vote. Motion
passed unanimously.
DISCUSSION
Zuccaro stated that tonight was Chairman Pritchard's last night after 21 years of serving on the
Planning Commission. The City owed him a great debt and gratitude.
Moline added that he appreciated Pritchard's mentorship.
iPads
Zuccaro asked the Commission if their iPads are helpful and functional. He offered to keep the
iPads at City Hall as an alternative to carrying them around.
Pritchard stated that they were a good addition and should be checked out to commissioners.
The only issue was that the larger images get grainy in zoom.
Sheets prefers electronic copies of the packets. Her only issues are that she forgets the
password and the large images get grainy.
Zuccaro stated that staff can help with the password issue.
Rice stated that he used paper more than the iPad, but prints out what he needed out of the
packets beforehand.
Zuccaro stated that City Hall was more than happy to print documents for anyone.
Moline asked if staff still get plans in large paper format.
Zuccaro stated that staff was trying to move away from paper copies. Staff requests three paper
copies for internal staff review and is moving toward getting that down to zero.
Hsu stated that he annotates the PDFs on his iPad, so he preferred checking them out.
