PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA Susan Szollosi, 326 Spruce Lane, Louisville, Colorado, has volunteered for the last five to six months as crossing guard at the Louisville Middle School. She has observed some pretty distressing traffic patterns in that area. People are not stopping to let the kids cross safely unless she goes out with a stop sign to stop traffic. She asked Council to put up a sign saying "Stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk". She pointed out that Pine Street and Hoover also has a major problem. People are going through that intersection at least 40 mph. Davidson stated a sign would be looked into as would greater police visibility. Tom McAvinew, 229 Lois Drive, Louisville, Colorado, wanted the Warembourg property kept as a "casual park". A major issue with the property is unleashed dogs and cats. He thought signage to leash the animals was appropriate. As far as the trail construction, he felt there could have been better supervision. He felt the contractor should have picked up after himself. There is still trash, one tree had to be trimmed (branches still there) for the widening of the trail, and there is an accumulation of gravel, dirt, and sand on the side of the street. There was a Porta Potty there, yet some of the neighbors saw a man urinating between two of the trucks. There was foul language. If a citizen had done this, they would have been ticketed. Davidson asked the City Administrator to look into those issues. COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ISSUES NOT ON THE AGENDA Mayer asked the City Administrator to look into the lack of response to the letter the City had sent to the District Attorney's office concerning the rash of burglaries in Louisville. Sisk attended a swim meet last Saturday and there were concerns raised about the potential closure of Memory Square Pool. There are petitions being circulated. He wanted the citizens to be assured that Memory Square is not being closed and there are no plans to do that. Keany stated that his family had hosted Up With People students for the past three years. Up With People is still 200 families short of host families. He hoped citizens would consider hosting and call 438-7450 to volunteer during the month of August. Howard thanked Karen's In The Country for recognizing local government by hosting the Council and Planning Commission for a barbeque tonight before the Council meeting. It was outstanding! Davidson assured the citizens that they will not and have never planned to close Memory Square. 2
