Louisville Local Licensing Authority <br />Meeting Date: April 30, 2001 <br />5 <br /> <br />Member Jeffers asked if there was an exit gate in the outdoor patio area and if that gate was locked. Ms. Valey <br />stated that there was a gate that is not permitted to be locked for emergency purposes. Vice Chairperson Lipton <br />asked if all the staff would be required to attend liquor training. Ms. Valey stated that normally only the <br />supervisory staff attends the training because they are responsible for walking through the dining and patio area <br />every fifteen minutes looking for any problems. Member Kimmett asked how the boundaries of the patio are <br />contained. Valey stated that a steel fence encloses the area and is approximately 42" tall. <br /> <br />Member Kimmett asked if the patio is posted with signs stated that alcoholic beverages are not permitted <br />beyond that area. Attorney Stonbraker stated that there are no such signs currently posted, but that should the <br />Authority require such signage, they would comply. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Lipton asked the Authority members if there were any further questions for the applicant. <br /> <br />Attorney Light stated he had a question concerning the list of officers and asked Attorney Stonbraker to explain <br />why Mr. Steven Ells was listed as C.E.O but in the individual history reports Mr. Robert Bernstein is listed as <br />C.E.O. Stonbraker stated that Mr. Ells is the founder and that he believes his title is C.O.O. and that Mr. <br />Bernstein is the C.E.O. Stonbraker continued that both gentleman have significant roles within the operation <br />and that both men received favorable review in the State's master file letter included with the Chipotle <br />application. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Lipton asked if there was any interested party in the audience who wished to speak in favor of <br />the application. None heard. <br /> <br />Lipton asked if the applicant wished to make any closing comments. <br /> <br />Attorney Stonbraker respectfully requested the Authority approve Chipotle Mexican Grill's application for a <br />Hotel and Restaurant liquor license, and stated that if the Authority desired additional signage in the patio area, <br />the applicant would comply. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Lipton closed the public hearing and called for member discussion. <br /> <br />Members briefly discussed whether or not to require the applicant to post additional signage in the patio area. <br />Members agreed that, based on the location, it would probably be a good idea. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Lipton called for a motion on the application. <br /> <br />Member Jeffers moved that the Local Licensing Authority of the City of Louisville find that the applicant is of <br />good moral character, that the inhabitants of the neighborhood desire the license be granted, that the license will <br />meet the reasonable requirements of the neighborhood, that all City and state law requirements have been met <br />and that, based upon these findings, the Local Licensing Authority approve issuance of a hotel and restaurant <br />license for Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc., doing business as Chipotle Mexican Grill conditioned upon the <br />applicant providing appropriate signage on the patio prohibiting removal of alcoholic beverages from the <br />licensed premises. Member I~mmett seconded the motion. Roll Call Vote: Koertje - yes, Lipton - yes, Jeffers - <br />yes, KAmmett - yes.
