RESOLUTION NO.63 <br />SERIES 2020 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A 2020-2021 GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE <br />COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL AFFAIRS' PEACE OFFICER MENTAL <br />HEALTH SUPPORT GRANT PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to apply for a one-year grant from the Colorado Department <br />of Local Affairs (DOLA) for the Peace Officer Mental Health Support Grant Program to assist <br />police officers in providing assistance to individuals in the Louisville community with mental health <br />issues, including a co -responder model and aging services; and <br />WHEREAS, in addition, this grant will also provide psychological services for Louisville <br />police officers as well as outside training for officers regarding assisting those with mental illness; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council believes the City should apply to DOLA for Peace Officer <br />Mental Health Support Grant Program funding and by this Resolution desires to express its support <br />for the grant application. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Section 1. The City Council strongly supports the grant application to the State <br />Department of Local Affairs ("DOLA") for the 2020-2021 PEACE OFFICER MENTAL <br />HEALTH SUPPORT GRANT PROGRAM ("Grant Application"). <br />Section 2 The Mayor, Chief of Police, City Manager, City Clerk, and City staff are <br />hereby authorized and directed to execute all documents and do all other things necessary on <br />behalf of the City to complete, execute, and submit the Grant Application. <br />Section 3. All action heretofore taken in furtherance of the purposes of the Grant <br />Application are hereby ratified and confirmed. <br />Section 4.
