1ty0f <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />Business Retention and <br />Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />October 5, 2020 <br />Electronic Meeting <br />I. CALL TO ORDER —The meeting was called to order by Committee President <br />Oberholzer at 8:01 AM. <br />II. ROLL CALL — Committee Members present: Jim Bolt, Barbara Butterworth, and <br />Mark Oberholzer. Committee Members absent: Steven Erickson, Amy O'Neill, and <br />Warren Merlino. Staff present: Economic Vitality Director Megan Pierce. There was <br />one member of the public in attendance. <br />III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA — Mr. Oberholzer made a motion to approve the agenda as <br />presented; Mr. Bolt seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br />IV. APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 14, 2020 MINUTES — Mr. Bolt made a motion to <br />approve the BRaD Committee meeting minutes of September 14, 2020; Ms. <br />Butterworth seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br />V. PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA: None. <br />VI. BUSINESS MATTERS OF THE COMMITTEE: <br />• Discussion/Direction- 2020/2021 Committee Work Plan: The Committee <br />continued its discussion of the Committee's focus, which in the past has primarily <br />been input and surveying. Ms. Pierce noted the next Business Satisfaction Survey <br />could probably be administered in Q1 2021. Committee members also discussed <br />possibilities for the next Business Forum, including hosting it outdoors or using <br />small focus groups as alternative gatherings. <br />The group reviewed marketing efforts about Louisville and what makes doing <br />business in Louisville attractive. It was suggested Lafayette and Superior may <br />provide good comparisons. Ms. Pierce noted that new business attraction must be <br />prioritized in balance with efforts for business welcome and retention. <br />The Committee called -out several discussion items from past BRaD agendas, <br />including Comprehensive Plan update and height calculations.
