1ty0f <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />Business Retention and <br />Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />December 7, 2020 <br />Electronic Meeting <br />I. CALL TO ORDER —The meeting was called to order by Committee President <br />Oberholzer at 8:01 AM. <br />II. ROLL CALL — Committee Members present: Jim Bolt, Barbara Butterworth, Steven <br />Erickson, and Mark Oberholzer. Committee Members absent: Amy O'Neill. Staff <br />present: Economic Vitality Director Megan Pierce and Planning & Building Safety <br />Director Rob Zuccaro. There were five members of the public in attendance. <br />III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA — Mr. Oberholzer made a motion to approve the agenda as <br />presented; Ms. Butterworth seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br />IV. APPROVAL OF NOVEMBER 2, 2020 MINUTES — Mr. Oberholzer made a motion to <br />approve the BRaD Committee meeting minutes of November 2, 2020; Mr. Bolt <br />seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br />V. PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA: None. <br />VI. BUSINESS MATTERS OF THE COMMITTEE: <br />• Discussion- Economic Vitality E-Newsletter: Director Pierce shared the recent <br />development of the Economic Vitality logo as well as the new monthly e-newsletter <br />for the business community: Louisville Biz. The Committee said the e-newsletter <br />was appealing and a good method of outreach. They suggested it might be helpful <br />to have a Table of Contents at the top of the e-newsletter. <br />• Discussion- Business Retention Visit Update: The Committee reviewed the <br />recent retention visits with WishGarden Herbs and Planet Fitness. WishGarden <br />leaders shared that it has been difficult to retain entry level workers, even at $15 - <br />$17 per hour wages. The company CEO also said they could not compete with the <br />additional unemployment benefits available earlier in the year. Planet Fitness <br />shared a very positive reception to the community, though they have greatly <br />struggled with the capacity restrictions.
