6. Public Comments on Items Not on Agenda <br />a. None <br />7. Miner's Cabin Landscape Update and Discussion <br />a. Dean gave an overview of project. <br />b. Original thought included sodding around the two cabins; however, soil in the area is <br />expansive. <br />c. Cobble area around cabins will keep water away from cabins and sodding will go in <br />outside of cobble area. <br />d. The historical society would like to put in plant material with historical context pending <br />planning, budgeting, etc. <br />e. In the meantime, sodding around the cabins while working to save the ash trees is in the <br />plan. <br />f. Irrigation will need to be redone. <br />g. Old telephone pole is near cabins; the pole and scoreboard are being removed. <br />Scoreboard will be saved for future use. <br />i. Steve inquired about location: Miner's Park. <br />ii. Ellen asked about timeframe: Cabins will be refurbished at City Services and <br />then be transported to location. Timeline is pending refurbishing. <br />iii. Width of cobble area: 5 feet around the building <br />iv. Opportunity to put bench or other seating area. <br />v. Cabins will be used on a per program basis. <br />vi. Deb Fahey raised a concern about the water and how far from the baseball field <br />fence the cabins would be placed. Deb reiterated that cabins will be open per <br />program. Cabins can fit 2-3 people at a time. <br />8. Review of Parks Scorecard and Discussion <br />a. Dean introduced topic and shared updated Parks Scorecard spreadsheet with official <br />park names. <br />b. Two PPLAB members per site will review. <br />c. Categories: <br />i. Amenities <br />ii. Landscape <br />iii. Trees <br />iv. Shelters <br />v. Playgrounds <br />vi. Athletic Fields <br />vii. Suggested Capital Projects (> $5K) <br />d. Rating: <br />i. Review 1-5 ratings and what constitutes a 1 vs. a 5 and in between. <br />ii. Dean suggested that ratings are subjective and individual feeling is valuable <br />feedback. <br />iii. Councilmember Knapp offered to put together a rating system. <br />2 <br />
