Sustainability Advisory Board Agenda <br />July 21 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />House bill 21611 passed, may require amendments to our ordinance. Re: fee <br />and tax reporting frequency. Should be only internal impact. <br />Utility bill insert and fall community update will focus on 2A impact. <br />Effort to convert remaining streetlights to LED. <br />Per public comment question, City will not be reviewing class four hail resistance <br />shingling in building code requirements. <br />Aug 10 is Q3 meeting with Xcel Energy — have questions related to CEP. City <br />energy report — significant decrease on business and residential consumption. <br />Increase in businesses signing up for wind -sourced energy. Excel will not share <br />names due to privacy issues. <br />See Katie's update in packet. <br />8. 7:05 PM Discussion Item 8: Climate Action Surveys <br />Led by Residential and Commercial LSAB Leads <br />Mark- Megan Pierce reviewed questions re: commercial survey. <br />Own section - no concerns <br />Todd- capture permitting process issues <br />Info will be captured anonymously. Give option at end to be contacted/actioned <br />upon. <br />Josh — standardize language on 1 st and 2nd pages. <br />Todd- strike "significant" at top of page 2. <br />Todd — add "what level/role do you play in the business" <br />Residential Climate action survey discussion — feedback incorporated from June. <br />Katie thinks Dan and Todd did a really great job. <br />Tiffany- add hyperlinks for more info, Katie will add. <br />Laura expressed concern about use of word "rebate", Katie explained it is like a <br />reimbursement. <br />Katie — clarified this is not a statistically significant survey. <br />C. Fahey — emphasize the survey won't take long. Eliminate "neutral" option. <br />Responses should be representative. Does "other" fit? <br />Tiffany — will it also be in Spanish? Katie — maybe, she will try to figure <br />something out. <br />9. 7:25 PM Discussion Item 9: Municipal Energy Update <br />Presentation by Katie Baum, Sustainability Coordinator <br />Last night Katie presented to Council, how we are working thru efficiency <br />improvements. <br />Tiffany — electrification, any coordination with EV stations at schools? City hasn't <br />worked with BVSD. <br />Josh — we should consider other areas of electrification in addition to <br />transportation, i.e. landscaping. <br />Tiffany — there should be mandates for updating city resources with high <br />efficiency ones. <br />C. Fahey — there is a cost savings in using electric vs gas equipment. Approx. '/z <br />the cost. <br />2 <br />
