Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />July 21, 2021 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />constructing a front porch on the Tomeo House, and installing new <br />railings on the Jordinelli house <br />C. Collection storage developments - looking into arranging for <br />climate -controlled, off -site storage for some large, bulky items <br />due to the delay in the Museum expansion: Bridget informed the <br />Commission about off -site storage options for larger items in the <br />Museum's collection and the Museum applying for a grant to <br />purchase and install compact shelving in the Jordinelli house. <br />D. Ash pit reconstruction updates: The brick mason is scheduled to <br />reconstruct the historic ash pit on July 261n <br />VII. Review of the "Courtyard" design and plans: Catherine Wessling, Chair <br />of the Louisville History Foundation, went over the plans and design for <br />the ADA-accessible Courtyard on the Museum's campus that the <br />Foundation is financially sponsoring. It is hoped that it will open in late <br />August or early September. <br />VIII. Introduction of Jason Hogstad, Museum Technician - Volunteer <br />Services, to talk about his work for the Museum: Jason introduced <br />himself to the Commission and talked about his work with the Museum <br />since he started in the job in May 2019, particularly his work with the <br />volunteer program. <br />IX. Report from Sharon Nemechek, Director of Library Ft Museum Services: <br />The City has now hired an Arts Ft Events Program Manager that will now <br />report to Sharon with the change in departmental structure <br />X. Report from Bridget Bacon, Museum Services Supervisor: <br />A. Museum Services Supervisor's report: No report <br />B. Museum's 35th anniversary celebration in September: Bridget <br />described the events to celebrate, with most taking place during <br />Louisville History Month in September. She stated that there will be <br />a members -only event on August 26 to unveil the new Replica of <br />Memory Square Park buildings. The replica will be in the Jacoe store <br />and the event will be separated into 30 minute segments for which <br />members can register, due to the goal of not having too many <br />people inside the Jacoe Store at one time. Next, the Museum will <br />participate in the First Friday Art Walk on Sept. 3rd. The Museum <br />staff is also continuing to work on the Louisville timeline for the <br />September 22nd launch.
