City,0Lk ;
Louisville
PARKS, RECREATION & OPEN SPACE
MEMORANDUM
To: Open Space Advisory Board
From: Trails Tiger Team Members David Blankinship and Charles Danforth
Date: September 8, 2021
Re: Tiger Team Updates
We are going to be creating guiding principles to help us evaluate social trails, along the
same lines as the properties that we give numeric values to when evaluating potential
property acquisitions. This will help us determine whether a given social trail should be
upgraded to crusher fines or concrete, designated as a dirt/unimproved trail, left as is, or
closed.
We are going to be using the Warembourg Open Space as a pilot project for social trail
evaluations. It is centrally located in Louisville and has a large number of social trails that will
help us refine how we place the social trails in different categories.
