LL City0f CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION Louisville AGENDA ITEM 2A COLORADO • SINCE 1878 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 67, SERIES 2021 — A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING REFUSE, RECYCLABLES AND COMPOSTABLES COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL FEES EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2021 FOR THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO DATE: SEPTEMBER 28, 2021 PRESENTED BY: KURT KOWAR, PUBLIC WORKS SUMMARY: Staff recommends City Council pass Resolution No. 67, Series 2021, for approval of a 1.85% increase to trash, recycling, and composting rates billed to residents by the City and then paid to Republic Services in accordance with the terms of their current contract with the City. The City awarded a 5-year annually renewable residential single hauler solid waste contract to Republic Services on March 5, 2019. This approval provides for adjustment of pricing for the 3rd year of the 5-year contract. Contract terms adjust rates annually by the All Urban Consumer Price Index for Denver - Aurora -Lakewood, All Items. For the end of 1 st half of 2020 to end of 1 st half of 2021 the calculated index increase is 1.85%.
