It also hears and decides floodplain
development permits and appeals of administrative zoning and floodplain decisions.

BOARD MEMBERS:
The current board members are: Wayne Chancellor, Chair; Gunnar Malmquist, Vice-chair;
Horst Loeblich, James Stuart and John Weise. Erik Jasiak is the associate member. One (1)
regular position is open on the board.

2008 SUMMARY:
The BOA heard seven (7) variance requests in 2008. The majority of the requested variances
(5 out of 7) dealt with properties in the Old Town Overlay District, while the remaining two (2)
were for Flood Plain Development Permits outside of the overlay district.

Of the seven (7) cases heard, only one (1) case was denied. The denial was based on the
findings that the proposal did not meet all of the six (6) required criteria for approval of a
variance as detailed in the Louisville Municipal Code Section 17.48.11 O.B (1-6).

IE

SUBJECT UPDATE/DISCUSSION BOARD OF
ADJUSTMENT

AGENDA ITEM

III

14
