WHEREAS, fees for demolition permits are established by resolution of the City Council, with the current fees set forth in Resolution No. 76, Series 2021, adopted by the City Council on November 1, 2021; and WHEREAS, recovery efforts have only just begun, but the City has already received numerous reports of residents who are underinsured, making demolition permit fees a potential barrier to debris removal; WHEREAS, the City Council finds that expedient demolition and debris removal on those properties affected by the Marshall Fire is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the City and its residents, and the City Council desires to waive City permit fees for the same in order to facilitate demolition and removal of such debris from the City as quickly as possible. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section 1. Exhibit A, Table 8 of Resolution No. 76, Series 2021 (Building Permit Fees) is hereby amended to provide for a waiver of all building permit fees for demolition permits issued for structures damaged or destroyed by the Marshall Fire, subject to the time limitation set forth in Section 3. Section 2. All actions heretofore taken (not inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution) by the City to waive demolition permit fees for structures damaged or destroyed by the Marshall Fire are hereby ratified, approved, and confirmed. Section 3. This resolution, and the demolition permit waiver authorized herein, shall become effective upon adoption and shall continue until September 30, 2022. Thereafter, demolition permits shall only be issued upon full payment of all applicable fees established by the City Council. PASSED AND ADOPTED this I' day of February, 2022.
