Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 21, 2022 <br />Page 6 of 9 <br />Pontasch has lived in this house since 1987. She shows the commissioners photos of <br />the house as it has been renovated. She explains the process of how she got to the <br />original siding of the house. She then reviews the various steps of renovations that have <br />happened to the house. She informs that the original house was a one-story bungalow <br />style house. She gives the commissioners an overview of the interior renovations and <br />how they have tried to keep the original character of the house. They have not changed <br />the original footprint of the house. She is interested in the historical society doing further <br />investigation of the house, particularly the main part. <br />Commissioner Questions of Applicant: <br />Haley says that anywhere they see a double window, there was originally a single <br />window there, correct? <br />Pontasch says that is correct. <br />Burg asks if she is aware of anymore historical history on this house. <br />Pontasch says that she is hoping that the Superior historical society will be able to help <br />them with that. <br />Public Comment: <br />None is heard. <br />Discussion by Commissioners: <br />Burg says that this is an iconic house for Louisville as well as a great location. There <br />are different pieces of character and structure, similarly to other homes in Louisville. It <br />does meet the required criteria. She is interested in an HSA assessment. <br />Haley says that part of the cultural and geographical piece of the house being moved <br />from Superior to Louisville is valuable for the City. She summarizes why she believes <br />the house meets the architectural significance. <br />Dunlap says he appreciates the enthusiasm of keeping the structure and going through <br />the Iandmarking process. <br />Keller says he agrees with the other commissioners. He believes that any house that <br />has been moved should have a structural assessment to make sure there are no hidden <br />issues. <br />Dunlap moves and Keller seconds a motion to approve 740 Grant Avenue's request to <br />find probable cause for a landmark designation to allow for funding of a historic <br />structure assessment. Motion passes unanimously by a roll call vote. <br />NEW BUSINESS — PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS <br />9A. Probable Cause — 741 Lincoln Avenue: A request to find probable cause for a <br />landmark designation to allow for funding of a historic structure assessment. <br />• Applicant: Gary Dunlap <br />• Case Planner: Kim Bauer, Historic Preservation Planner <br />All notice was met as required.
