<br />COUNCIL ITEMS <br />APPROVAL OF THE BILLS <br /> <br />POW WOW - LIQUOR LICENSE <br />RENEWAL <br /> <br />APPROVAL <br /> <br />THE LIQUOR STORE - TRANSFER <br />OF OWNERSHIP <br /> <br />APPROVAL <br /> <br />LIBRARY BOARD APPOINTMENT <br /> <br />William Van Orman, 1478 Frank- <br />lin Court <br /> <br />Councilman Leary <br /> <br />4/5/86 <br /> <br />Page -2- <br /> <br />Mayor Meier requested this item be taken <br />at this time to allow City Treasurer Hesson <br />to read them and then be excused. <br />City Treasurer Hesson read the bills in the <br />amount of $116, 182.02. <br />Councilman Cussem moved, Councilman Cummings <br />seconded that the bills be approved and <br />checks issued for the same. Question called <br />for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Attorney Rautenstraus advised that the ap- <br />plication was in order and the police report <br />showed no incident or liquor code violations. <br />Councilman Fauson moved, Councilman Ferrera <br />seconded that the Pow Wow Liquor License be <br />renewed. Question called for. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Attorney Rautenstraus advised that the ap- <br />plication was in order; since it is a trans- <br />fer of ownership the only item which re- <br />quires review by council was the fitness <br />of the applicant. <br />Mayor Heier then introduced Mr. Raymond Bata, <br />the new owner to council members. <br />Councilwoman Morris moved, Councilman Fauson <br />seconded that the application for The Liquor <br />Store transfer of ownership be approved. <br />Question called for. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilmembers had a copy of the letters <br />of interest and recommendation from the <br />Library Board, as well as a copy of the <br />advertisement for the vacancy. <br />Ann Trementozzi, Library Director, was present <br />as well as the applicant William Van Orman. <br />Mr. Orman introduced himself to council members <br />and stated he would be happy to answer any <br />questions they may have. <br />Commented he would like Mr. Orman to expand <br />on the statement that libraries should serve <br />strong and effective multiple roles - speci- <br />fically multiple roles. <br />Mr. Orman felt that a library should be a <br />major resource to the community - should also <br />provide a range of services. Did not wish <br />to get into total innovations as he was not <br />yet familiar with the present system. <br />
